Paddling

The Club can run kayak trips on the multitude of fantastic rivers throughout the New England region, including the Nymboida, Gywdir, Little Murray, Styx and many more.

We also have a fleet of craft to suit everyone ranging from stable beginner boats to more dynamic playboats for the more experienced paddlers. We also have kayaks for those interested in competition. The crafts are provided free of charge to members on club trips.

If you would like to hire a Kayak for a personal trip, please get in touch with us at contact@uneoac.org to discuss. Members are allowed to hire our fleet for personal adventures.

We also have a collection of Paddling resources from the web if you’re interested in learning more about paddling activities.

Places You Can Paddle

Dumaresq Dam

Dumaresq Dam is a recreation reserve. You’re allowed to swim, paddle, and fish at Dumaresq Dam. There is a boat ramp for canoes and kayaks, but petrol boats are not allowed. There are BBQ facilities, firepits, and children’s play equipment, making it a great place to hang out with friends or family on a summers day. It’s located about 10 minutes from the edge of town and UNE.
